Visitors of Corfu can have a pleasant and creative stay on the island. There is the possibility to go to bars and discos all over the island until the morning, to participate in recreational programs organized by the island’s tourism bodies or even go to traditional fairs organized by parishes in the city and in villages.
They may also- after going swimming – entertain themselves and their children at the water slides. Corfu walking
Walking and hiking in Corfu is a good way to see the beautiful rich Corfu Greece nature. With its rich flora and fauna, dense vegetation and unspoiled countryside, Corfu is a real paradise for hikers. It is a difficult walking, however when reaching the top also most rewarding. The “Corfu Trail” is the best-known trail among walkers and hikers from all over Europe. The trail mostly uses age-old tracks, mule paths, and dirt roads, avoiding tarred highways as much as possible. It is well waymarked and can be followed in either direction.
Corfu tennis
Tennis is one outdoor activity available on Corfu. Tennis courts can be booked at various locations however we recommend the tennis court in a nearby hotel. Enquire at reception for reserving the tennis court.
The tennis center is situated in the island’s capital, Corfu Town, at Romanou Street, within walking distance from the Archaeological Museum. There you can find 4 tennis courts.
Corfu horse riding
Horseback riding in Corfu ( Kerkyra ) is a glorious experience due to the islands lush vegetation, narrow paths, and beaches and gives you the unique opportunity to experience another aspect of the Corfiot countryside.

Corfu cycling
More than 6000 people come to Corfu just to cycle. The island’s good minor road system and the central location of The Corfu Mountainbike Shop in Dassia mean that almost all beautiful parts are easy to reach during a single day’s cycling trip so that each day’s cycling can be a new experience.

Corfu cricket
Corfu (Korfu ) Cricket has a long history, the first recorded game taking place on St. Georges Day in 1823 between the British Garrison and the Royal Navy.
Whilst history has been somewhat chequered, cricket is now a very popular game on the island.
During the summer months, Splianada Square in Corfu Town hosts the Cricket Festival.

In Corfu (Korfu) Greece there are two golf courses one at the Kanoni hotel, this is a very small course but its very good to spend your time and the other course is at Ropa valley.
This Course was designed by Donald Harradine and it has 18 holes. It is one of the greatest championship courses in Europe. Because of this at the year 2006, the course was hasted the International amateur golf championship and the Corfu spring festival that they where a lot of well-known players in Europe.
Fantastic weather makes a round of golf in Corfu a wonderful experience.
Corfu Scuba Diving
Corfu offers many great diving spots where species of flora and fauna from an interesting reason for you to experience scuba diving. Diving in Corfu centers less around the abundance and variety of fish and more on interesting rock formations, swim-throughs, and exploration of wrecks. The visibility is surprisingly good (averaged around 50 ft) and octopus, squid, starfish, and fireworms are quite common.
Diving centers tend to be very informal operations, with a traditional Greek approach to planning dive trips (in some cases this can be frustrating when trying to organize daily activities). Dives are organized on the West Coast of the Island for experienced divers and the East Coast of the Island for beginners or the less experienced.

Paxos & Parga cruise
You leave the port of Corfu Town and sail along the southern coastal line before entering the narrow channel to the port of Galos at Paxos. You can explore the island or visit the Blue Caves. Corfu: Events and customs
Four times a year there is a procession headed by the preserved remains of St. Spyridon in the streets of town accompanied by the island’s many bands. The procession is held on Palm Sunday, Holy Saturday, August 11th and the first Sunday in November. Celebrations at Mandouki on August 14th, the eve of the Assumption of the Virgin. Carnival is celebrated in Corfu Town with special festivities and customs on the last Sunday before Lent. These include a parade of floats and Corfu’s bands, followed by the traditional burning of an effigy representing the spirit of Carnival.
Among the most impressive religious events are those occurring during Holy Week and on Easter Sunday. One picturesque custom associated with Easter is the breaking of the crockery in town on the morning of Holy Saturday. In summer, two municipal orchestras and the town’s three brass bands give concerts which are enthusiastically attended by residents and visitors alike.
Sound and Light performances are given by the GNTO on summer evenings in the Old Fort in English, Greek, French and Italian. Check to see which time your language is scheduled. The annual Corfu Festival is held in September and includes concerts, ballet, opera, and theatre performances. Lefkimi holds a folk festival with local dances every year on July 8.
